Types of Coils

Shown here are just a few of the standard coils that Chicago Pipe Bending can fabricate. In addition these, we can also produce coils Custom Designed for your particular applications and requirements. Pipe coils can be furnished in various types depending upon tank design and heat transfer requirements, please indicate to us your required total square surface area.

Helical

Double Helical

Double Helical coils permit a large amount of pipe to be placed within a small tank. We also regularly furnish triple and quadruple Helical coils. Helical coils can be furnished in large diameters.

Box Type

Coil supports (or straps) are usually required to maintain coil shape while in transit and after installation. When ordering, indicate quantity, size and shape of coil supports required.

Conical

Flat type coils can be formed to fit the bottom of a round horizontal tank.

Conical type coils can be formed to fit the bottom dish or cone of a round horizontal tank.

Half Pipe Coils

We offer Half Pipe Coil rolled from sheet for the outside of tank shells.

Half Pipe Coil is available in a variety of materials: Carbon Steel and Stainless Steel; T304L or T316L. Other alloys available upon request.

We can supply Half Pipe in 2-3/8″, 3″or 4″ O.D. sizes formed to 180° thru 120° Profile Styles.

Also, we offer True Half Pipe made from 3/8″ thru 4″ I.P.S. Sch. 10, 40 and 80 in 180° Profile Style. Material options are in A106B Carbon Steel, T304L and T316L Stainless Steels. Other alloys available upon request.
